For a package postmarked or electronically submitted on or after August 31, 2026, USCIS requires the 08/24/26 editions of Form I-864, Form I-864A and Form I-864EZ. USCIS says it will not process or accept the former 10/17/24 editions after that date. This is an immediate filing-form change, not a new income threshold or a change to who must submit an Affidavit of Support.

Regenerate the applicable I-864, I-864A or I-864EZ form using the 08/24/26 edition before sending it. The relevant date is the postmark or electronic-submission date, not the date you first prepared the package.

Check every applicable Affidavit of Support document separately. The principal sponsor's I-864 and any household-member I-864A must each use the current edition where that form is required.

Form I-864 is the Affidavit of Support under INA section 213A. It is commonly part of family-based immigrant-visa and adjustment-of-status cases, and can also be required in some employment-based cases.
Form I-864A is a contract used where a qualifying household member's income or assets are being counted. It is not a substitute for Form I-864.
Form I-864EZ is a shorter alternative only for sponsors who meet its stated conditions. It is not interchangeable with the full I-864.
