State Department says the December 2025 Diversity Visa issuance pause is no longer in effect
The State Department's Diversity Visa issuance guidance, updated August 31, 2026, says that as of August 28, 2026 the December 2025 pause is no longer in effect, in accordance with the court's order in Medani et al. v. Trump et al. DV-2026 entitlement still ends on September 30, 2026.

USCIS Immediately Replaces Three Affidavit of Support Form Editions
USCIS now requires the 08/24/26 editions of Forms I-864, I-864A and I-864EZ for filings postmarked or electronically submitted on or after August 31, 2026. The agency says it will not process or accept the former 10/17/24 editions after that date.

USCIS now accepts only the 07/28/26 edition of Form I-589, the application for asylum and withholding of removal. Check the edition date at the bottom of the form before filing.

State Department says 75-country immigrant-visa issuance pause is no longer in effect
The State Department says the January 2026 pause on issuing immigrant visas to nationals of 75 countries is no longer in effect following the court order in CLINIC et al. v. Rubio et al. The change concerns consular immigrant-visa cases, not tourist visas or adjustment of status applications handled inside the United States by USCIS.
