The second-longest line in the second preference

EB-2's 28.6 percent share of the worldwide limit plus EB-1 spillover meets the same 7 percent per-country ceiling for China as for everyone else. Chinese demand has exceeded that share continuously, so the column carries a multi-year cut-off while most of the world reads Current.

China's EB-2 date has usually moved in steadier, smaller steps than India's, and it has stayed open in months when India's row went dark, because the two countries' demand profiles differ. Common questions

Why is China's EB-2 date years ahead of India's?

Both columns get the same per-country share; the difference is demand. Indian EB-2 filings have outnumbered Chinese filings by a wide margin for years, so India's queue at the same inflow share is longer. Neither column borrows from the other.

Which chart governs when I can file adjustment of status?

USCIS designates the governing chart for employment categories each month, and this site verifies that designation on the day it enters a new month's data. The current designation is stated in the status block above.
