What a U in this row does and does not mean

EB-2 receives 28.6 percent of the worldwide employment limit plus whatever EB-1 leaves unused, and India's share of that is capped by the 7 percent per-country limit. When the bulletin prints U, numbers are not authorized for anyone in the row, usually because the pro-rated annual limit is exhausted; the annual limits reset when the new fiscal year begins on October 1.

Unavailability stops final action, and it does not undo anything: pending cases keep their place, priority dates keep their order, and the filing chart can stay open while the final action column is dark. What no one can read from a U is when the reopened cut-off will appear or where it will land.

The chart shows U for EB-2 India. Is my pending case in trouble?

No. U means no visa numbers can be authorized in the row for the rest of the period, most often because the annual limit is used up. Your case, your priority date, and your place in line are unchanged, and adjudication of everything short of the visa number can continue. A cut-off returns when numbers do.
